2022 Subaru Outback

The 2022 Subaru Outback has a great off-road ability that offers a velvety ride with a spacious cabin. If you need more cargo space for your adventure gear, you’ll be able to load your cargo on the roof effortlessly. Subaru has introduced the new Wilderness trim for adventurers who prefer more off-roading capabilities. The Outback is now also available in a more powerful turbocharged engine for drivers who require a considerable more speed.

Trims and Prices

The 2022 Subaru Outback is available in seven trims: Convenience, Touring, Limited, Premier, Wilderness, Limited X, and the Premier XT. Pricing ranges from $31,195 for the Convenience to $44,195 for the Premier XT.

Exterior

The Convenience has roof rails with integrated crossbars and 43.18cm alloy wheels. The adventurous Wilderness has a lifted suspension, all-terrain tires, a front skid plate, a roof rack upgraded to take up to 700 pounds, and more.

Safety and Technology

All trims come standard with advanced driving aids, including hill descent control, adaptive cruise control, a forward collision mitigation system, automatic high beams, and a lane-keeping assist system. The forward collision control system warns you of imminent forward collisions, and the system will apply the brakes when you can’t respond fast enough.

Standard technology features in the 2022 Subaru Outback include smartphone integration and dual 17.78cm infotainment touchscreens. Also included as standard in the Convenience trim are USB ports in the front and rear, a four-speaker sound system, and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Premium XT and Wilderness have additional features, including a Subaru Starlink Connected Services, wireless phone charging, and a SiriusXM satellite radio with a three-month free subscription. The Premium XT model comes standard with a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Additional Subaru Starlink system tech and safety include an advanced collision notification system, boundary alert, speed alert, remote engine start and stop, and enhanced roadside assistance, to name a few.

Performance and Efficiency

The Convenience, Touring, Limited, and Premier have 2.5-litre four-cylinder engines with a maximum power output of 182 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque. The 2.4-litre turbocharged direct-injection engine in the Wilderness, Limited XT, and the Premium XT can produce 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. The Wilderness has an upgraded all-wheel-drive system for serious off-roaders.

Under normal driving circumstances, the 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine has a fuel efficiency of 11km/L in the city and 14km/L on the highway. The more powerful 2.4-litre turbocharged engine will give you approximately 9.7km/L in the city and 12.8km/L on the highway.
